Course Summary

The mandatory units offer a broad insight and skill development into the Performing Arts industry, and provide opportunity for those from single or multi-discipline backgrounds to embed knowledge and understanding of the performing arts in practice. The optional units allow for students to specialise in areas of expertise and develop their talent.


Course Details

The course is structured into five components. Mandatory Units: Group Performance Workshop, Developing Skills and Techniques for Performance, Musical Theatre Techniques.

Optional Units include: Acting Styles, Developing the Voice for Performance, Singing Techniques for Performance, Choreography for Live Performance and Contemporary Dance Techniques.



Entry requirements

Grade 4-9 in GCSE Drama or BTEC level 2 pass to distinction in Music or alternative qualification and a Grade 4-9 in GCSE English.

Students must be competent in music, drama and/or dance and should be aware that performance is a key aspect of this course. Commitment to rehearsals and self-discipline is essential.
