Course Summary

You will study a range of traditional and contemporary artists/photographers relevant to a chosen theme.

Course Details

Theme-based photography may include Portraiture, Landscape, Still-Life, Photo-Journalism, Film and Stop-Motion. From your completed work at least two units will be chosen to enter the exam process. Layout and presentation are considered important alongside written analysis of images, your own thinking and personal response.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

The final exam unit will consist of one unit of work from a chosen starting point. You will be allowed a few weeks to prepare and will then create a final piece whilst working in a Photography room, for ten hours, under exam conditions.

Entry requirements

No formal entry qualifications are required for Level 2 courses.

Your next steps...

Future potential in this subject is very broad. Every real image, product, promotional material and media work have involved a Photographer somewhere in the process. Photographers all follow an Art and Design route in Further Education and Higher Education.
