Application Limits - You can make up to 5 applications to Colleges within the EKC Group, that is:

- EKC Broadstairs College*
- EKC Canterbury College*
- EKC Dover College
- EKC Folkestone College*
- EKC Sheppey College
*Junior Colleges exist in these locations.
Please only add one course or T Level per application. At your interview, you and the tutors can discuss the best level and courses in order for you to progress.
Course Summary
Bring your creativity to life in a range of content projects, whilst focusing on developing your skills to enter the creative industry.
Course Details
You will develop your overall understanding of the media industry with a range of theory based and practical projects. You will also take part in a deep-dive of videography and photography, exploring how they work and what it takes to create a great media product.
Year One focuses on topics including:
• The creative economy
• The individual in the creative industries
• Cultural context and vocabulary
• Audience
• Legislation/Regulation
• Professionalism and ethics
• Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
• Research Skills
• Project methodology and administration
• Continued professional development
Year Two is completely practical-based with skills being further developed before starting on a much bigger project. This assessment will be over many hours and will be specifically based on content creation.
Alongside this you will be complete industry placement hours over the two years, which will help you to put into practice how skills are applied in real-world scenarios.
Access to new and evolving technologies ensures that you are ready for your next steps into your chosen industry.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Year 1 is assessed with an exam and an Employer Set Project (total 30%)
Year 2 is assessed with a practical set project (total 70%)
The grades are then combined to get your overall final grade for the course.
There is also a 45-day work experience placement with a local employer.

This course will open the door on many opportunities for your next stage. This could mean progression into university, with our links with local universities helping inform your choices. Studying at a higher level can boost your knowledge and open up doors in the creative industry.
You can also go into employment based on the skills you will develop. The majority of businesses now require many kinds of content to be created for websites, advertising or social media and this course will help develop your skills in these areas.
