Course Summary

Equip yourself with the cutting-edge skills, knowledge and industry experience needed to start your journey in a range of technical support jobs. A T Level is available to those aged 16 to 19 and is made up of 80 per cent classroom work and 20 per cent work placement.

Course Details

Equip yourself with the cutting-edge skills, knowledge and industry experience needed to start your journey in a range of technical support jobs. A T Level is available to those aged 16 to 19 and is made up of 40% moderated practical assessment, 40% exams, and 20% work placement.

In Year One, you study units covering a general understanding of digital infrastructure such as:

  • Impact of technology on businesses
  • Data Management security
  • Digital environments
  • Testing software, hardware and data
  • Fault analysis and problem resolution
  • Planning digital projects

In Year Two, you study the occupational specialism of Digital Support, looking at installation, setup and configuration of hardware and software.

There are two exams and sets of practical assessments over the two year programme.

In your work experience, you will develop transferrable technical and practical skills based on the knowledge gained in College. This gives you opportunity to use your skills in a realistic working environment.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

T Levels are assessed through a combination of exams, practical assessments, and completion of your industry placement. The exams take place at the end of each year and test the skills you have learnt so far.

You can progress into a wide range of opportunities after a T Level. These include, starting your career in a wide number of IT jobs, moving into a higher-level apprenticeship and even going to university to learn further.
