Course Summary

This qualification focuses on the development of knowledge and skills needed to work in the Management and Administration sector and prepares students to enter the sector through employment or as an Apprentice. The two-year course has been developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares learners for work. Therefore, the course also includes a minimum expectation of 45 days industry placement across the two years. 80% of the time will be in learning content with 20% practical hands-on experience in the workplace.

On completion of this Core content, learners will have knowledge and understanding in the following areas:

1. Business Context

2. People

3. Quality and Compliance

4. Finance

5. Policies and Procedures

6. Project and Change Management

7. Business Behaviours

In addition, students will specialise in one of the following; Business Improvement, Team Leadership/Management or Business Support depending on their work placement.

Assessment consists of two externally set exams covering knowledge from the Management and Administration core content, one employer-set project covering knowledge and skills from the Management and Administration course and one occupational specialism assessment that will feature a considerable practical element and is composed of a series of holistic practical tasks relating to the specialism topic they have studied

Entry requirements
