Course Summary

Interested in the care and welfare of animals and want to increase the depth of your knowledge in this field? Then you've come to the right place. This level 2 programme is designed to produce a competent animal care employee by teaching basic handling skills and developing your understanding of the biology and health of certain species. You could be studying units including Animal Biology, Animal Health and Animal Welfare. Your skills could then be developed by progressing to the level 3 qualification. All our lecturers are well qualified and experienced animal carers, and will teach you the best way to look after a wide range of creatures including lizards, snakes, rabbits, spiders and lots more.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade D/3 or above, including English or maths at grade D/3 or above.

Your next steps...

Successful completion of the course may be enough to secure employment in the animal care industry. However, many students choose to boost their job prospects even further by progressing onto the level 3 Diploma and then university.
