This course is the equivalent of 1 A Level
This advanced-level programme has been specifically designed as interactive preparation for those interested in pursuing a career within a public or emergency service e.g. Police, Fire, Ambulance Service, the Armed Forces, Prison Service, and HM Revenue and Customs.
Course Details
The Uniformed Services course is intended to physically prepare students for entry into the Public Services or higher education and enhance career prospects within the Public Services. This is a four-unit course which covers the units in behaviour and discipline, teamwork and leadership, and outdoor activities and expeditions.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will compile a portfolio of your assessments which will include written assignments, observations, placement reports, photographic or video evidence, diary entries, and group work. There is one exam on behaviour and discipline.
Entry requirements
At least four to five GCSEs graded 9-4 including English or Maths.

Diplomas are valued by employers and higher education providers. For the uniformed services, you could go into a career such as the Police, Fire and Rescue Service, the Armed Forces, Security, or HM Customs and Excise. Former students have also gone on to study Criminology and Police Studies at university.
