Course Summary

This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a professional theatrical media make-up artist including: health and safety practice; client care and communication; airbrush make-up to the face; camouflage make-up; media make-up; fashion and photographic make-up; style and fit postiche and the application of prosthetic pieces and bald caps. Create and cast small prosthetic pieces and bald caps; face and body art. You will learn through theory and practical sessions and you will undertake written and practical exams. Working on external clientele to complete your practical assessments.

Entry requirements

Completion of a Level 2 hair and media make up qualification. Five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English and maths at grade C/4 or above.

Successful completion of the course could open the door to a variety of exciting career opportunities, such as working as a make-up artist on a TV show, theatre production or film set. You may also progress on to an HND course or university.
