Entry Requirements Applicants must achieve a grade 4 in English Language or English Literature, and Mathematics, in addition to the minimum requirements in their chosen subjects.

Course Summary
English Language retake students will have the opportunity to work on improving their reading, writing, analytical and organisational skills which are essential for the examination and the wider world.
Course Details
All students wishing to pursue further education courses with us will have to retake English Language if they did not obtain a GCSE grade 4 or above in the summer examinations. They will not have to retake English Literature.
Paper 1 Fiction:
(Explorations in Creative Reading and Writing).
▪ Section A: Reading one literature fiction text.
▪ Section B: Writing descriptive or narrative writing.
Paper 2 Non-Fiction:
(Writers' Viewpoints and Perspectives).
▪ Section A: Reading one non-fiction text and one
literary non-fiction text.
▪ Section B: Writing writing to present a viewpoint.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The qualification will be 100% examination
Paper 1 Written exam: 1 hour 45 minutes, [80 marks = 50 % of GCSE]
▪ Reading: (40 marks) (25 %).
▪ Writing: (40 marks) (25 %).
Paper 2 ▪ Written exam: 1 hour 45 minutes, [80 marks = 50 % of GCSE]
