Course Summary
The course involves an in depth analysis of key geographical issues related to the 21st Century and highlighted daily within our media. Candidates will be expected to investigate the nature of physical and human environments.
There is a required field trip element to the course. This assists with the completion of the Unit 4 independent investigation.
Course Details
The A Level Geography (Edexcel) content is taught in topics from each exam paper:
Paper 1 topics: Physical Geography; – Coasts, Global Water, Tectonics, Carbon & Energy
Paper 2 topics: Human Geography; Regenerating Places, Globalisation, Migration and Superpowers
Paper 3 topics: Geographical Issues form the compulsory topics in Paper 1 & 2.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
There are 3 examination papers and an NEA (non-examined assessment):
Paper 1: Physical Geography – 30% of final grade
Paper 2: Human Geography – 30% of final grade
Paper 3: Geographical Issues – 20% of final grade
NEA: 20% of final grade
