Level 3 - 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or higher including English and Mathematics.
Transition - 5 GCSEs at grade 3 or higher. Either English or Mathematics must be at a grade 4.

Course Summary
Why study this subject?
Studying Geography is a way to investigate how the world works in terms of natural and human processes. It allows an opportunity to fully appreciate and understand the complex relationships between natural and human environments, processes and issues. In this current political and environmental situation, it has never been so important to fully appreciate the events which are occurring, and which will shape our future.
Course Details
Units that will be studied
The course comprises of four units of work:
• Unit 1: Physical geography
• Unit 2: Human geography
• Unit 3: Geography fieldwork investigation
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment
Paper 1 External examination – 2hrs 30mins covering the physical geography unit 40%
Paper 2 External examination – 2hrs 30mins covering the human geography unit 40%
Fieldwork Investigation Individual investigation completed on a question or issue related to any part of the geography content. 3000-4000 words 20%
Entry requirements
STS Sixth Form offers a broad range of A Level and Applied general qualifications that will prepare you for university or employment. To access this route, you will need to have at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths; however, some subjects have specific entry criteria. You will study a programme that can be tailored to meet your interests and future aspirations to give you the best chance of academic success. This programme is a two-year linear course. To study four level 3 courses, you must have at least 5 GCSEs at grade 7 or above. All courses are subject to change and are not set in stone.
Additional Entry Requirements
Grade 6 or above in GCSE Geography.
