Course Summary
Health and Social Care is a broad term that relates to the integrated services that are available from health and social care providers.
BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate provide the opportunity for learners to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes, essential for successful performance in working life. The qualifications are equivalent to one A Level.
Course Details
Four units for the Extended Certificate, three of which are mandatory and one that is optional.
Year 1 and 2
Students will study the designated units required over two years.
The mandatory units are:
- Unit 1: Human Lifespan Development
- Unit 2: Human Biology and Health
- Unit 3: Principles of Health and Social Care Practice
The Optional Unit is:
- Unit 5: Promoting Health Education
How will it be delivered and assessed?
This course is assessed by a mixture of internal controlled assessments and external examinations.
