Course Summary
Students will study -
A broad basis of study for the health and social care sector. This qualification is designed to support progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other appropriate BTEC Nationals or A Levels.
The mandatory content of the qualification incorporates topics relevant across the health and social care sector:
• Human Lifespan Development
• Working in Health and Social Care
• Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs.
Learners can select one optional unit that covers the biological and sociological topics relevant to the different parts of the sector to support their progression to specialised degree programmes in the sector.

There is a written exam a controlled assessment and internal units.
Entry requirements
Students will be expected to have 5 grade 4 and above GCSE grades including Maths and English.
