Course Summary

The Applied Science course allows for a range of practical and theory-based sessions with an emphasis on the application of scientific principles across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
Students produce written reports, presentations, laboratory logs and case studies.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

The Applied Science course has five assessed units; 4 are compulsory:

1. Principles and Applications of Biology- External assessment

2. Principles and Applications of Chemistry- External assessment

3. Principles and Applications of Physics- External assessment

4. Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques- Internal assessment

Students will take one of the 2 optional units:

5. Science Investigation Skills- Internal assessment

or

6. Contemporary Issues in Science- Internal assessment

Entry requirements

Grade Requirements:

Grade 4 and above in English

Grade 4 and above in Maths

Grade 55 and above in Science
