Course Summary

A-Level Maths will help to deepen your knowledge of mathematical problem-solving. You will learn to spot clarity, pattern and structure in mathematical problems as you explore differentiation, integration, vectors and trigonometry.

Course Details

Over the two years you will take your passion for problem solving to the next level as you increase your knowledge in Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics. You will develop your ability to spot clarity, pattern and structure in mathematical problems as you explore differentiation, integration, vectors and trigonometry. The skills you develop will be very valuable and in great demand and are central to technology, medicine, engineering and almost every aspect of everyday life. During the course you will study topics including: * Algebra and functions * Coordinated geometry * Differentiation * Integration * Sequences and series * Trigonometry * Exponentials and logarithms * Complex numbers * Vectors By the end of the course you will have developed a valuable set of skills for your future career, which are currently in great demand by employers at home and abroad.

Your progress will be regularly assessed by tests, and coursework, with regular feedback and guidance being offered for constant improvement.

Entry requirements

Our general entry criteria to study 3 A-Levels is: Minimum five GCSEs grade 4-9 with English Language or Maths at grade 5. For a mixed Level 3 programme the criteria are: Minimum five GCSEs grade 4-9 with English Language or Maths at grade 4. Subject specific entry criteria apply: A GCSE grade 6 in Maths.

Your next steps...

Completion of this course may facilitate access to degree courses including mathematics, medicine, engineering or accountancy. Alternatively, you may progress onto an apprenticeship or into employment in engineering or IT based roles. There will also be a number of career opportunities available to you, particularly roles that require a high degree of numeracy, such as a math teacher, a Statistician, an Accountant, an Engineer or an Economist.
