Entry Requirements - Generally, in order to study Level 3 courses you must have achieved a minimum of five GCSE passes at grades 9 – 4, including English and maths at a grade 4 or above, or a Level 2 Pass in a relevant vocational qualification. Some A Level courses require you to have achieved specific grades in either that subject, English or maths.

For Level 2 courses you will need to achieve 3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above. Both English and maths must be at grade 2 or above.

Course Summary

The A Level Maths course is a two year course comprising of three main modules; Pure Mathematics1, Pure Mathematics 2 and Statistics & Mechanics.

Pure Mathematics;

Topic 1-Proof, Topic 2 - Algebra and functions, Topic 3 - Coordinate geometry, Topic 4 - Sequences and series, Topic 5 - Trigonometry, Topic 6 - Exponentials & logarthms, Topic 7 - Diffentiation, Topic 8 - Integration, Topic 9 - Numerical methods, Topic 10 - Vectors.


Statistics & Mechanics

Topic 1 - Statistical sampling, Topic 2- Data presentation & interpretation, Topic 3- Probabilty, Topic 4 - Statistical distributions, Topic 5 - Hypothesis testing, Topic 6 - Quantities & units in mechanics, Topic 7 - Kinematics, Topic 8 - Forces & Newtons laws, Topic 9 - Moments.
