Course Summary
This course offers an engaging and effective introduction to Sociology. Students develop knowledge and understanding about society and how sociologists study. It will help students understand society's structures, processes and issues. Sociology is exciting, interesting and relevant to students' lives.
Students will learn the fundamentals of the subject and develop skills valued by higher education and employers, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research.

Sociology is assessed through three examination papers with equal weighting.
Paper 1 - Education with Theory & Methods
Paper 2 - Topics in Sociology
Paper 3 - Crime and Deviance
Entry requirements
In order to attend Meopham Sixth Form the minimum entry requirement is 5 level 4 GCSEs, including English Language and Mathematics.
