Entry Requirements: - Vary by course please see individual subject information on this website. We also require students to achieve at least five Grade 5s or above at GCSE for Level 3 curriculum. For our Level 2 Pathway, students need to have five Grade 3s or above, inlcuding English and Maths

Course Summary

This A-level Business course introduces you to all you need to know about working in business, providing a solid foundation for further study. With a focus on helping you to become a good decision maker, you’ll learn essential managerial skills, alongside techniques to help you become an analytical problem solver. These skills are all highly sought after and valued in a wide range of careers.

The world of Business will be explored using business models, theories and techniques to support analysis of contemporary business issues and situations. In class we will learn through topics and issues that are relevant in today’s society – students will study key contemporary developments such as digital technology, business ethics, and globalisation.

2 Managers, leadership and decision making
3 Decision making to improve marketing performance
4 Decision making to improve operational performance
5 Decision making to improve financial performance
6 Decision making to improve human resource performance

Year 2 content:
7 Analysing the strategic position of a business
8 Choosing strategic direction
9 Strategic methods: how to pursue strategies
10 Managing strategic change


How will it be delivered and assessed?

100% Exam, 3 papers at the end of the two year programme

Entry requirements

Grade 5 in GCSE English and Maths

OR

Grade 5 in GCSE Business / Merit at Vocational Business/Enterprise plus grade 4 in English and Maths
