Course Summary
Our Level 2 Barbering course will teach you all the base skills you need to start your career. You will learn traditional skills, such as scissors over comb and cutthroat shaving, as well as learn specialist techniques, such as 2D and 3D sculpting.
Course Details
You will study all the fundamental skills to become a barber, and to work in this dynamic industry. This one year course is designed to teach you the fundamental skills in barbering. You will learn some pattern work, cutthroat shaving and many aspects of male grooming. During this course you will have opportunity to work with industry experts and will have many skilled barbers attending workshops to increase your skills and knowledge.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Your assessment will consist of practical tasks, coursework and exams. Practical assessments are carried out on paying clients in our commercial salons. Essential knowledge is covered through project research, case studies, written/practical assessments and online exams.
Entry requirements
Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3.

Upon successful completion of this course you can go on to study hairdressing or there are a number of career opportunities available to you, including in Commercial barber shop/salon, self-employed, or working in television, film, theatre and media.
