Entry Requirements: - Admission to Towers Sixth Form to study A levels or BTEC equivalent will be awarded on the basis of GCSE performance. Each subject has its own entry requirements.

Course Summary
A-Level Chemistry is a fundamentally experimental subject. Studying Chemistry will help you to develop your research, problem solving and analytical skills. It will enable you to challenge ideas and show how you worked things out through logic and step-by-step reasoning. The course will broaden your horizons and help you to understand the world around you, and the chemistry of living things.
Course Details
During this two year course, you will complete 12 practical assessments and cover topics such as:
Atomic structure; thermodynamics; rates of reactions; acids and bases; organic and inorganic chemistry.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will sit three exams at the end of Year 12. Your result in the twelve practical assessments is noted as an endorsement alongside your A-level grade.

Paper 3 - 30% of A Level
Questions on practical techniques and data analysis.

Previous students have gone on to be trained as embalmers in the funeral industry and gone onto study BSc (Hons) Electronic and Computer Engineering and BSc (Hons) Biochemistry with a year abroad.
