Course Summary

Step into the future of digital creativity. This dynamic two-year course invites you to explore the cutting edge of game development, 3D world building, and virtual production techniques using industry-standard tools like Unity and Unreal Engine.

Course Details

You will undertake a range of creative computing projects to develop skills in game development and 3D world building and virtual production techniques.

You will be using industry-standard game engines such as Unity and Unreal.

In Year 1, you’ll dive into the core principles of creative computing, working on your own interactive projects—whether it’s crafting a playable game prototype, designing immersive environments, or experimenting with VR. You’ll develop hands-on technical skills while learning how to bring digital ideas to life.

In Year 2, you’ll level up your creative and professional practice by refining and presenting a final project to industry standards. This could be a fully realised 3D world, a compelling interactive narrative, or a virtual production showcase.

Throughout the course, you’ll work on live briefs with real clients, collaborating with local creative professionals, artists, and technologists. Whether your goal is university, a career in the creative industries, or launching your own digital studio, this course gives you the experience, skills, and portfolio to stand out.

Create the future. Build new worlds. Start here.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment will be through ongoing assignments and an end of year project. The awarding body is the University of the Arts London (UAL).

Your next steps...

You can progress into a wide range of opportunities after this course. These include starting your career in a wide number of virtual production pathways, moving into a higher-level apprenticeship or a higher national qualification, including an undergraduate degree.
