Course Summary

Join us for this Level 2 course, where we'll teach you the fundamental skills to become a make-up artist. You will learn techniques, including make-up application, body art, and hairstyling.

Course Details

During this one-year course you will be able to learn about the art of make-up, everything from the techniques used in applying make-up to environmental sustainability. During this course you will take part in specialist workshops with Kryolan make-up trainers and will participate in work experience in local theatres.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Your assessment will consist of practical tasks, coursework and exams. Practical assessments are carried out on paying clients in our commercial salons. Essential knowledge is covered through project research, case studies, written/practical assessments and online exams.

Entry requirements

Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3.

Your next steps...

Once you have successfully completed this course you will be ready to develop your knowledge and skills to start your career in a variety of roles including theatre, film, photographic studios, salons or self employed basis. You will also be eligible to become a member of the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) or Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
