Course Summary
This specification is designed to encourage candidates to:
• Build an awareness how to break down sources and interpretations.
• Analyse the concept of change and continuity across the given periods studied.
• Assess the concepts of cause and consequences as to why events happened and the impact on the period and the people
Course Details
Students will learn about:
The Tudor family (1484-1603): Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary I and Elizabeth I. How the Tudors came to the throne, the problems that they faced and the extent of change and continuity across each reign.
Nazi Germany (1919-1945): problems facing Germany after the First World War, aspects of democracy during the Weimar years and how Hitler was able to come to power. Students will also investigate aspects of life for different groups of people under the Nazi regime.

Unit 2 - 2O Democracy and Nazism (Depth Study) - Worth 40%
NEA - Civil Rights Movement (4500 Word Essay) - Worth 20%
Entry requirements
Grade 5 grade in GCSE History/ English. An ability to write in depth, assessing the evidence to come to informed judgements.
