Please only add one course or T Level per application, except for A Levels at EKC Canterbury College, where up to 4 A Level courses can be added per application. At your interview, you and the tutors can discuss the best level and courses in order for you to progress.

Accounting plays a vital role in every successful business, and this AAT accredited Level 2 course is designed to give you the skills and understanding needed to begin a career in this essential sector. If you’re considering Accounting, you’re likely someone who enjoys working with numbers, staying organised and understanding how money moves within a business. This course supports those strengths, helping you build confidence while learning how Accounting principles are applied in the workplace. You’ll learn how financial information is recorded, managed and used during practical activities, projects and employer informed learning, giving you a clear insight into how Accounting supports business decision making. Alongside developing your technical knowledge, you’ll strengthen key skills such as teamwork, communication and independent study, ensuring you’re well prepared for your next steps.

On this AAT accredited Level 2 course, you’ll gain the core Accounting skills needed to move into employment or progress onto further study. You’ll also discover how these skills are used in practical situations in companies across the world. A key part of your studies is the ability to work independently and within a team, meaning you’ll be ready for a range of prospects when you finish College. Units on this course include: • Introduction to Bookkeeping • Principles of Bookkeeping Controls • Principles of Costing • The Business Environment Synoptic You will also work alongside key employers to develop the skills they’re looking for, during work placement opportunities and workshops in College.

The assessments are all designed to test your skills in Accounting and to ensure you’re ready for your next steps. Online exams take place at the end of each unit, to refresh your knowledge. These are set and marked by AAT and you must score 70% or above to pass. The units and qualifications are graded pass, merit and distinction.

After completing a Level 2 course, previous students often progress onto further study in Accounting. Your options include our Level 3 and T Level courses, which can take you to university. You can also start a focused apprenticeship or take on an entry level role to kickstart your career.
