Course Summary

Working in partnership with Kent Cricket, this is a unique opportunity for young people to join the Kent Cricket Coaching Academy. This academy combines outstanding education experience with a professional sports coaching programme.

Course Details

Learning at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in the heart of Canterbury, you will have access to professional sporting, fitness, training facilities and equipment.

As part of the Academy, you will develop a wide range of professional skills including:

  • Coaching
  • Teamwork
  • Leadership
  • Strength and Conditioning
  • Performance
  • Player Psychology

You will also have plenty of opportunities to enhance your knowledge of the world of professional sport, such as gaining work experience at matchdays, to finding out the inner workings of Kent Cricket itself.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment takes place through practical work, presentations and observations and written assignments.

Once you finish your course, you will be ready to start your career in the sports and leisure industry. You can also go onto further study in this area to look at advanced employment, such as through university courses.
