Politics has real world applications and can lead to a promising career. It will help you to become informed about the world, develop your ideas and form valuable opinions.
Course Details
The functions of government and politics in the UK, the USA and the European Union.
Ideologies such as liberalism, socialism, conservatism, and multiculturalism.
Key political events that have shaped the world.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Politics will be assessed through three examination papers with equal weighting.
Paper 1: UK politics
Paper 2: USA politics
Paper 3: Ideologies
This is an essay based subject and so you will be taught how to write a strong essay.
Entry requirements
In order to attend Meopham Sixth Form the minimum entry requirement is 5 level 4 GCSEs, including English Language and Mathematics.
To study A Level Politics students are required to achieve a minimum of a Level 5 in GCSE English.
