Course Details
By studying a T Level, you will combine practical learning and academic study, thanks to a 45-day work experience placement with a local employer.
During your College studies, you’ll develop a strong foundation in Accounting while developing the behaviours and skills employers expect.
In your first year, you will study core units covering a range of topics such as:
• Fundamentals of financial accounting
• Elementary financial principles, concepts and practices
• Accounting, bookkeeping, and business mathematics
• Professionalism and ethics
• Responsibilities in the workplace
• Data, analytics and design thinking
In your second year, you will study ‘Assistant Accounting’ as an occupational specialism.
Your industry placement is designed to bring everything together. Applying your theory knowledge in the world gives you valuable insight into how accountants operate and helps you build confidence in a professional environment.
All this means you don’t just get to learn about Accounting but truly experience it during your time at College.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The assessments are all designed to test your knowledge of the Accounting and Finance sectors and to ensure you’re ready for your next steps.
On a T Level, you can expect to complete dynamic coursework in addition to exams at the end of each year.
A large part of your final grade will be calculated with the completion of your industry placement. By taking part in an employer-set project, you’ll stand out from the crowd in today’s job market and leave College with a clear understanding of what employers need.
Your next steps...
As T Levels are equivalent to three A Levels, former students have progressed to universities across the country. Your degree could be in subjects including Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Entrepreneurship. The choice is yours.
If university isn’t for you, then higher-level apprenticeships are also an option.
Taking part in your dedicated work placement means easy progression to a new career in the world of Accounting and Finance. The skills gained are invaluable and are highly sought after by employers.
Thanks to choosing a T Level, Connor is now starting his career in Accounting alongside exploring new opportunities:
“I achieved a Distinction on the T Level, and I have been offered a job with an Automotive company as an Accounts Assistant. Thanks to my work experience, I have also been offered the opportunity to support with their Events Management. I feel like I have learned a lot of skills at College, making me ready for work."
