Course Summary

Chemistry A-Level is a content-led approach where practical skills are integrated within the theoretical topics. The specification encourages students to develop a detailed knowledge of chemical concepts in order to apply it to problem-solving and practical tasks, and to increase their awareness and understanding of the impact of chemistry on the success of the economy and society.

The chemists will have the opportunity to undertake IRIS projects in conjunction with Benenden school.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Chemistry is assessed by three external exams at the end of the two-year course. We have internal assessments at various points during the course to review learning.

Practical skills are assessed throughout the course and a Skills endorsement certificate is issued.
