Course Summary

Develop your creativity through a range of artistic practices, media, techniques, and processes, and be introduced to the world of Art and Design.

Course Details

You will explore different techniques and utilise a range of materials and mediums, such as painting, printing and ceramics.

The units in the course will expand your knowledge of art history and famous artists, alongside the practical elements. These units include:

  • Materials, processes and technical skills
  • Contextual research
  • Drawing skills
  • Communication skills in art and design
  • 2D creative problems
  • 3D creative problems
  • Time-based creative problems
  • Developing and producing a personal project

All lessons are taught by highly skilled, passionate, and practising artists who will give you guidance and help you develop your skills.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will build a portfolio of your work and submit sketchbooks for each assignment, which will be graded by external assessors against your unit criteria.

Your next steps...

Upon successful completion, go onto further study or progress to a Level 3 course. You can also start your career in the Art industry across a range of specialisms.
