A-Level Accounting emphasises both financial accounting and the recording of past events, and management accounting as a means of planning and decision making. Students will demonstrate a good understanding of the double entry model and accounting principles and concepts as these form the foundation of all financial accounting techniques. Students will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of the formulae used for computations, carrying out computations and use the results of computations to inform judgements, solve problems and make decisions.

Paper 1: Financial Accounting (50%)

Paper 2: Accounting for analysis and decision-making (50%)

Grade 9-4 in at least 5 GCSEs including English and Maths (with a minimum of Grade 6 in Maths being essential).

The technical, analytical and organisational skills that accounting students learn throughout the course can prepare students for multiple industries, not just in the traditional roles of accountant or auditor. Students can use these strengths to explore careers in finance, business, law enforcement and more.
