How will it be delivered and assessed?
The course features a range of practical activities which are undertaken during topic teaching and are examined in the final year exams. There are three exams at the end of the two years for A-level, all of which are two hours long. The final paper is based around all topics studied over the two year course with a specific focus on the practical activities undertaken and practical applications of the Biology studied.
Entry requirements
A Minimum of a Grade 5 in English Language and Mathematics and a grade 6-6 in Combined Science or Grade 6 in GCSE Biology.

This qualification will provide learners with a broad understanding of Biology to support progress to higher education. This qualification can also prepare learners to take up employment in the applied science sector, either directly after achieving the qualification or via higher education.
Studying this qualification will enable learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of Biology principles, as well as those scientific practical skills recognised by higher education institutions and employers to be most important.
