Course Summary
As one of the top-ten most widely spoken languages in the world, a sound knowledge of French enhances career opportunities globally, as well being a valuable life skill. Study at this level gives an insight into the French-speaking world, giving students access to many African and Caribbean communities in addition to France and Canada.
Success at A Level leads to improved choices at university or in further education, where French can be studied in a surprising range of combinations with other subjects. The unemployment rate amongst language graduates is one of the lowest and they often attract higher salaries in business and industry.
Course Details
A Level Course
You will follow a two-year course developing your skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing to a high level. This will enable you to communicate effectively across a broad range of contemporary and historical topics. By the end of the two years not only will your spoken and written language have vastly improved but you will also have a much greater insight into the culture of French-speaking countries.
You will develop the ability to use the internet as an international resource. There may also be the possibility of participating in a language-focused visit to France.

Entry requirements
Students should have a 5 grade or higher in GCSE French and a genuine interest in the French-speaking world.
