Please only add one course or T Level per application, except for A Levels at EKC Canterbury College, where up to 4 A Level courses can be added per application. At your interview, you and the tutors can discuss the best level and courses in order for you to progress.
Course Summary
Begin your career in the Construction industry and get a trade under your belt.
Course Details
This course will introduce students to the basics of woodwork and carpentry. Students will cover:
- Health and safety in construction
- Basic tool skills and maintenance
- Shaping timber for floorboards
- Making and assemble doors
- How to build frames
- How to create staircases
Throughout the course, you will learn a wide variety of skills and techniques in our well-equipped workshops. And you will have the opportunity to take part in national skills competitions and work on community projects. <.p>
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will learn through practical lessons in the workshops. Assessment will be through completing a portfolio of work, practical observations, written work and online tests.
Your next steps...
On successful completion you could move onto a Level 3 Site Carpentry course or Apprenticeship. Alternatively, you could seek employment within the industry (you may need to gain a CSCS Card first).
