Course Summary
Geography develops knowledge of places and environments, an understanding of global geographical systems and issues, analysis and the application of knowledge. This A Level specifies the systems approach to examine physical processes. In Human Geography you will learn about how places develop a sense of place and the importance of resource security, amongst other things.
Course Details
The course is assessed in three parts.
One Physical Geography exam and one Human Geography exam, both worth 40% of the final grade and coursework, based on fieldwork, worth 20%.
Year 12: The Physical Geography topics are Coastal Systems and Landscapes and Hazards. The Human Geography topics are Changing Places, Global Systems and Global Governance
Year 13: The Physical Geography topic is Water and Carbon Cycles. The Human Geography topic is Resource Security. We also complete the coursework element in Year 13.

Entry requirements
Grade 5-9 in GCSE Geography and Grade 4-9 in GCSE Mathematics.
