Level 3 Health and Social care is an ideal foundation for learners, providing them with a theoretical background reinforced with practical skills that transfer into the modern workplace.

The course leads students through a wide range of units such as learning about an individual’s right and needs, cultural diversity, the impact of diet and coping with changes in life stages. A choice of optional units also allows the course to be adapted to suit the interest of the learner.

The subject works closely with local care settings to give learners the chance to apply their knowledge for real. Such experience can be particularly valuable when seeking future training or employment.

This qualification is taught in two parts, an AS is available and an external unit as well as 4 evidence portfolios will be completed. The second year a further 2 external units and 2 evidence portfolios will need to be completed.

- The importance of effective communication
- Anatomy and Physiology
- Equality and Diversity
- Health and Safety within health and social care settings.
- Safeguarding
- Creativity and activity for children and young people

Entry Requirements: 5 GCSE's at 5-9 and English Maths and Science for this subject at grade 5
