Course Summary
Our ‘LEAP’ course prepares students with the skills and expertise that they need to leap into vocational studies in the wider college.
Course Details
Students learn within our Foundation and Inclusive learning department, from a curriculum which gives them the skills they need for further study.
The curriculum includes:
- Preparation for work
- Independent living skills
- Teaching to improve Maths
- Teaching to improve English
Students also undertake a work experience placement one day per week. Once a term we set new individualised targets to monitor and review students’ progress in these areas.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Students will create a portfolio of evidence to support their progress throughout the course. Assessment is through a range of methods and can be discussed further upon application.
Your next steps...
This course can lead to students progressing into the vocational College curriculum at Level 1 or 2 in several departments, as well as going onto a supported internship.
