Course Summary

Develop your in-depth understanding of traditional and digital design techniques, with this specialist course in Animation and Illustration.

Course Details

Our Level 3 Animation and Illustration course is designed for aspiring artists and creatives aiming to learn and explore animation through a foundation in illustration and production. The programme emphasises hands-on learning through practical workshops, live briefs across drawn, digital, 3D and mixed media practices. All delivered under the UAL Awarding Body framework. The course has been created in close collaboration with animation studio, A+C Studios based in Margate, who will be on hand during the delivery and will be offering work placement opportunities for all students on the course. On the course students will gain unique industry insight, mentorship and professional exposure. With creativity, confidence building, adaptability and storytelling at its core, the course prepares students for higher education, apprenticeships, or direct entry into the fast-evolving creative industries.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

This course will be assessed through multiple projects that will build your skills in several areas. You will then be issued a brief at the end of each year, in which you will be able to come up with your own project demonstrating your new skills. Your grade for each year will come from the final project, however you will be assessed during the course with detailed feedback on how to improve. This is a very supported curriculum that will allow you to be given clear development points on how to improve as you develop your skills.

Your next steps...

This course can lead to further study at University, where you will be able to focus your studies further within the animation and/or illustartion world or within another creative field. This course could also lead to employment opportunities based on the skills you will be learning whilst at College.
