Course Summary

Widen your knowledge of Art and Design, and extend your practical, hands-on making skills with this Level 3 course.

Course Details

You will work on a variety of projects over the 2 years, which focus on the importance of creative development and project research. These projects are in a range of artistic mediums, such as:

  • Drawing
  • Illustration
  • Mixed Media
  • Painting
  • Sculpture
  • 3D Design
  • Print making

Contextual assignments will also be completed alongside practical studies to enhance your knowledge of the art world.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

On the course, you will grow your professional portfolio, which will aid assessment, and enhance prospects.

You will be set a final project at the end of each year, which will be externally moderated to determine your grade. Year 1’s project is based around a theme set by your tutor. Year 2’s project theme is chosen by you individually.

Entry requirements

Level then determined by audition or portfolio. With little or no portfolio and/or performance experience you will be advised to study on the most appropriate route to build your distinctive portfolio and gain skills and knowledge to ensure success at higher levels of study.
