Course Summary

Develop the skills needed to begin a career within in domestic plumbing.

Course Details

You will learn the enhanced skills needed to progress in the field of domestic plumbing and heating. Our course will equip you with the core units needed when entering employment.

Topics you will cover include:

  • Health and safety in the workplace
  • Working safely and effectively?
  • Principles of environmental technology systems
  • ?
  • Cold water system planning and design?
  • Hot water system planning and design
  • Domestic central heating systems planning and design

Throughout the course, you will learn a wide variety of skills and techniques in our well-equipped workshops. And you will have the opportunity to take part in national skills competitions and work on community projects.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment will be through completing a portfolio of work, practical observations, written work and online tests.

Entry requirements

Equivalent of 4 grade 4s including English and maths at 4 (or pass at level 2 where you will have developed a context of maths in the same/related subject).

Your next steps...

On successful completion you could move onto a Level 3 course or Apprenticeship or seek employment within the industry (you may need to obtain a CSCS Card and a Water Regulations certificate).
