Course Summary
Course Details
A Level Mathematics builds on skills developed at GCSE and provides students with a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts in a way that fosters confidence, enjoyment, and logical thinking. The course is divided into two key areas: Pure Mathematics, which includes algebra, trigonometry, and calculus (making up two-thirds of the course), and Applied Mathematics, covering statistics and mechanics (the remaining third). This blend helps students see how different mathematical topics connect and how they apply to real-world problems, other academic subjects, and future careers.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment is through three equally weighted external exams: two papers focus on Pure Mathematics, while the third examines Statistics and Mechanics. Final grades are awarded from A* to E.
