Please only add one course or T Level per application, except for A Levels at EKC Canterbury College, where up to 4 A Level courses can be added per application. At your interview, you and the tutors can discuss the best level and courses in order for you to progress.
Course Summary
Our Level 1 Employability course is designed to help you explore your interests and build the skills you need for your future career.
You will experience a range of practical tasters across key pathways, including Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Early Years Education, and Health and Social Care. These sessions will help you develop confidence, discover your strengths, and make informed choices about progressing onto a Level 2 vocational course.
This course is designed for students who currently do not hold English and Maths qualifications and are working at Entry level 3 or above.
Course Details
For the duration of the course, you will work to achieve Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications.
To achieve the Award in Employability, you will cover units such as:
- Working in a team
- Digital skills
- Career planning
- Communication skills
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The Employability course is assessed through a portfolio of evidence that is built during the academic year.
Entry requirements
This course is your first step into college education. As part of this course, you’ll get extra help with your English and maths, making you more ready for work and allowing you to move on to a Level 2 course if you choose to.
No formal qualifications are required – just a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
